Very small hawk. Cross piece is exactly 5 1/2" top to bottom. Bird is less than 11" head to tail. Sighted in southern NH last week of March.
Coopers or Sharp-Shinned?
Sharp-shinned. Note the very thin ('sharp'!) legs, and uniformly grey crown (not darker giving a capped effect that Cooper's has).
