CLOSED: New bird in my garden - please help ID

North East England, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Saw this bird in my garden for the first time today. It was about the size of a sparrow and was feeding on the ground. Thanks for any help.

Do you think it could be a male reed bunting?

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Just checked my Collins guide for Britain and Europe and that's what it looks like to me. Appears to be transitioning into alternate (breeding) plumage and still has the narrower winter collar instead of the wide white collar, but it is getting there. Also, the dark on the head and neck still show a little of the winter brownish color.

Disclaimer: I am a rookie at this.

Yep, male Reed Bunting, male moulting into breeding plumage.
