My hen that has been laying eggs for almost a year twice made a noise between the 'egg laying song' and crowing. She is the lowest one in the pecking order but tries to dominate non-chicken pets. Lets just say she has a lot of emotional hangups.
I know that hens can crow. Thought it was only dominate hens that stopped laying eggs. Could this become a problem?

I don't know, but it sure made me laugh. I had a little silver sebright, she also laid eggs regularly for about a year maybe 18 months and one day I was in the coop and she started crowing. When I realized it was her I spent most of the day laughing...Have a great day. Hay

Cute! Was she crowing at something or just doing it for fun? Who old is she? She looks a bit young.
She is over a year old.. and started crowing daily Cody said. (I was gone when she was doing it) she was still laying every day.. I don't understand?
That is an excellent pic, what great timing. Maybe laying that egg just gave her something to crow about.
ZZ's you taught me something new today. I did not know a splash had to be white. I always thought any color with a splash of another color was a splash. Thanks for the info. Boy so much to learn.
