I've been planting and using more bulbs in my landscape during the past year and am making a separate gardening journal for those plantings. I am stuck as to what the "proper" terminology is when a newly planted bulb successfully "emerges". Is there a commonly accepted proper term for this? For example, seeds "germinate"... What is the comparable term for bulbs? Pretend were playing Jeoperty!
Help with bulb planting terminology
I use the word sprout in reference to bulbs, corms, roots, etc. -DOug
Thanks Doug... actually that was the term I was using (mostly), but since I am relatively new to bulbs, everytime I used the word sprout, or some tense of it, I always thought of alfalfa sprouts... (I lived in CA for many years). Thanks again, maybe it'll just have to grow on me... pun intended!
