when do you all fertilize your spring bulbs..Especially your daffs??
fertilizer
I never do anything special to them. They are all planted in amoung beds with other plants like my rose beds or my daylily beds. So when the roses and daylilies get fertilized, so do the bulbs.
I give my daffs a dose of liquid fertilizer (high in P and K) when they have come out of the ground but are not yet in high bloom.
I'm not quite sure why I do this except that I read somewhere in one of the bulb society newsletters that this will help the bulbs form better bulbs for next year.
I suppose if your garden already has a beautifully balanced and rich soil with natural 'bulb boosters' in it such as bone meal, etc., this wouldn't be strictly necessary.
