I'm helping a dear friend with her yard. It is pretty much the way it was when she bought the house, with older (but healthy) shrubs & lawn. She has several things that are suckering, or from which cuttings can be taken including:
Old-Fashioned Lilac (White) - suckers abt. 18" high
Old-Fashioned Pink Single Rose (very fragrant) - Suckers
Currants (not sure what kind, but need to be moved since the new garagge is shading them now) - suckers
Old-Fashioned Honeysuckle Shrub (red & yellow, I believe is what she said) - Cuttings
We're looking for deer-resistant plants that will take various degrees of shade (some shade to mostly shade). I have tons of hostas, so unless they are named varieties that I don't have, we're not interested. There is a tiny bit of nearly full sun as well, so for the right thing, we might be interested. Particularily like flowers & plants that are pretty care-free.
