Found this today in a local Garden Centre. H australis.you dont get many Hoyas for sale here, but obviously I had to buy it to encourage the Nursery to get more Hoyas in ( my excuse and Im sticking to it.!!.))
What suprised me is how it was growing. It had had a lot of sun, and in , well, just solid soil with bad drainage , over potted and soaking wet. They had about 15 in from somewhere on the islands, probably Tenerife. All were strong plants, all had flowered as there is a seed pod and more flowers coming, and basically everything we try not to do to Hoyas....yet they were all really strong and all setting bud. They told me it was a Stephanotis.....now they know better....:))
Bad photos as its a different camera, but gives you the idea
New find
Nice find!
I love those leaves!
NICE find!!! I really love H. australis...it is such a willing camper and takes most abuse of the worst kind.!!!!
Great find, and I love that seed pod, kinda looks like a snail shell.

I love the seed pod! Very neat!

It looks like an insect or pathogen got into one side of the seed pod while it was still small preventing it from growing. The other side would then have kept growing and ended up wrapping itself around. Can you see anything there looking closely? It would be a shame to find you could be harbouring something which might multiply and infect your other plants.
Nice point, TB...I would never have thought that...but of course it wouldn't matter the pathogen or insect, foreign or not...
hmm
In the bin now....best safe than sory......there'll be more ( not that I need more australis )
Oh Dom...it is not about NEED, now, is it?
always another spot empty.:))
