BEEP! BEEP!

Norman, OK

This guy is getting predictable. We can find him more often than not. He will let you get fairly close so long as you walk parallel to him. I discovered that if I whistle he will raise his crest and listen. See more pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/okierednek/ROADRUNNER#

Excellent photos Red!! He's sure a beauty. You're very lucky he doesn't take off. My friend in Tucson says that it's nearly impossible to photograph these birds at her house.

I love that tiny pink or red dot at the bottom of the crest. Noticed it in my book and found it on your last photo.

Love it. Great shot.

Great shots Red...I love Roadrunners!

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

While Reddirt's Roadrunner may be getting predictable, I photographed a very unpredictable Roadrunner. This fellow was perched 30 feet up in the top of a dead tree -- cooing!

This shot gives a better perspective of the tree top Roadrunner.

I photographed this Roadrunner in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California last week.

Nice pictures Red and Grasmussen.

I'm pretty sure I posted this picture on here before; but it's still one of my favorite roadrunner shots. Most people never get close enough to a roadrunner to see the southwest colors around it's eye. This one nested under a cactus in my yard a few years ago. After awhile it got used to me and my camera; so I was able to get fairly close to it.

Gras, I have a brother-in-law who lives in SW OK on an acreage. He has a RR that sits on his roof every morning. Kinda like he is surveying his little part of the world.

They seem to have small ranges, so if you find one, chances are good you can find him again.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Such a fun bird to watch. Thank Gary, Red and Jane for sharing the pictures.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I just love roadrunners.....we need to see more pics of them here!
