I had a small area of wax begonias in my front flower bed and after the freezes we have had I figured thery were in flower heaven.. Imagine my suprize when this afternoon I was raking away the oak leaf mulch I use and I find them coming up!!! Wow... they are tough little guys.. so to all who think they lost a lot be patient you might be suprized!!!

My begonias are coming back too, all except the huge dragon wing ones, which are the ones I most wanted :( Ain't that always the way it goes?

yours would have stood a better chance than mine since you are in a warmer zone..but I sure was suprized to see them..lol. I Have a HUGE pin oak tree in my side yard and Ive been using the leaves as mulch since I moved here and Im convinced thats what saved them.. there must have been 3 inches on top of the little devils.. My azaleas love the oak leaf mulch.. I dont use it everywhere just in the area where they fall the most...
