Has anyone ever tried to grow Sea Holly in a container? Does it work? Will it flower?

Probably. Just be sure to let it dry out, they prefer sandy/well drained conditions.
A little known (or discussed) thing about Sea Holly is that they are pollinated by flies...if you're planning on keeping it on your porch or deck, that might be a consideration.
