They stopped by again this morning to attempt to get some berries off the East Palatka Holly, but I don't think they had much luck. The resident Mockingbird kept chasing them off.
Cedar Waxwings
GP, Their beautiful! Thanks for posting the pics!
Gosh, I already miss mine. Wonderful photos, all of them!!
Thanks. They were back at it when I got home this afternoon.
I saw some of those birds yesterday toward the back of my property. It occurs to me I did have one feeder with some nuts and dried fruits in an effort to get the woodpeckers to come more often. So even though I didn't see them at the feeder they may have visited it while I wasn't outside! We have Ashe Junipers here and I've always thought those probably eat the berries during other times of year, but those berries probably aren't around this time of year. I just pulled out some new Ashe Juniper seedlings out of my garden today...sure don't need any more of those!
There are thousands around this morning, alternately sitting in a neighbors huge tree and making trips down to my Holly, and with that number, the Mockingbird can't stop them. I'll have some pics to upload later.
Anxious to see them GP! We had a large flock of them here, but not as many as you have. You're so lucky!!!
Nice shots of the Cedar Waxwings, GP. No wonder I haven't see any. You have them all !!! Send some north ........
What an amazing sight that is, GP.
So glorious sighting of these beautiful birds! I so wanted to go to Fla. now.
Those are awesome shots GP...I'll bet your heart was really beating as you were photographing, I'm sure I would have fainted!!!
Thanks. I have more pics from this morning. I'll get them up later.
Thanks so much for the pictures! I've never seen more than 4 at once.
Wow, maybe they come from all the states and have a reunion in warm Florida!!
OH GP, that's crazy amazing!!
Wowee, GP, that's just fantastic! I love your term "masked marauders". Very apt.
Wow, great job GP!! I never thought they would flock like that, nice capture's and thanks for sharing!
Brilliant! Thanks so much for the pictures.
I am speechless...those are wonderful GP!! I am so glad you shared them with us since it is doubtful we will ever see this...WOW!!!
Ha. I can't believe you are saying UGH to Cedar Waxwings as we all love them so much. I know they are piggies with berries though.
Not the birds, but the berries. The Chinaberries; invasive Southern thugs. Though I love their blooms Linda. lol. But if the Waxwings like them. I think they have earned their keep. lol
