Yes, black legs, yellow bill = Great Egret.

They did not seem large enough for a Great Egret, thanks.

Unless there is some other known bird in the same view, most people have a difficult time judging size.

The neck threw me also. Their neck is so long, yet when flying looks almost non-existent.

They fold their neck into a tight S-shape (all herons do - a useful distinction from storks and ibises, which stretch the neck out)
