At least I think this is a thrush. It's feeding on some grain I threw out for the doves an juncos. Has almost no tail and a long slender beak. It runs, doesn't hop and is almost perpetual motion. It's fast.

Not a thrush. I'd guess a pipit... I would elaborate but our field guides date back to the time before the renaming of American pipit species, and I have no idea of the "correct" common names or even species names anymore!
My guess would be American Pipit...I have been watching and hoping to see some myself.
Agree with American Pipit, that's lost its tail. Looks strange without it!

I first thought Pipit, but got off on a tangent of trying to find a bird with this body shape. It's out of place up on this red dirt hill. Never seen one here. But put a tail on it and I see a Pipit. :)
My mystery bird returned a couple of times this afternoon with a couple of friends who had tails. I immediately recognized them as pipits. Several people in OK have reported them this weekend. Apparently they were migrating when this storm grounded them.
