I took this photo this morning because I was so excited to see the bluebirds back in the yard for the first time today. I know it's slightly out of focus, but I do believe that I inadvertently caught Father Bluebird in the act of eating a worm - either that or he's got a much longer tongue than I thought! I know spring is definitely coming now!
Caught in the act of eating a worm!
Isn't it exciting of all the signs of spring. Today it's 'balmy warm' here. Birds are out anticipating more critters surfacing from the winter nap. Nice pix CMoxon.
So happy to hear that spring is heading your way. What a wonderful sight for you to see. It looks to me like he's eating a worm too. Kinda hard to get him in focus when his head is moving as he enjoys his meal. He sure is a beauty.
Nice one!
Unfortunately, the ground you see in that picture, that was clear this morning, is now covered in about an inch of snow. 2 to 4 expected. But, he'll stick around anyway and it will melt soon.
I vote worm, doubt if his tongue is segmented.
