I don't know whether it was the three months of 100+ days with no rain or the La Nina cold and rainy autumn and winter, but I have never seen such large and beautiful blooms on the Texas Mountain Laurels (Sophora secundiflora) as I have this year. The trees are full of them, and purple is the color of this spring!

The buds on mine is just starting to swell, this winter has been colder than usual, so things are a little behind.
