It's on April 10th and there is a thread for that also. 'Greenshed Party"

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Meadowyck - I looked at your garden pictures last night. Nice job - what a transformation. I can see that you're someone who likes to get things moving!

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

I waited a long time before starting my garden due to the fact that we had to have a new roof put on.... and the company that my husband worked for after the first year they keep cutting everyones bonuses and then started on their salaries, then in June they cut him loose. Said it wasn't his age (he turned 60) but how could it not be when he was the oldest and the only one let go.

Ok not going to find the party thread....LOL

I hear you . . . a lot of people are in that boat nowadays. Hope your DH finds something else he likes soon.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Nope don't have skype. I'm amazed I have a computer and digital camera. And that I do this DG thing. But it makes me very happy,

We're all so much farther than used to be . . . who could have imagined?

I am doing a fly-by - read the entire previous thread last evening, and savored every photo!! I realize I "cheated" in that I did not have to wait for completion in any real sense. I envy the circle of friendship that exists, and what fun you should all have at the warming party!!!!!!!!! I have now added this to my "watch" thread, so just know that you have lurkers out here!!!!!!! Continued fun and friendship wishes to one and all.

You are invited too, wannadanc. Come on over and meet everyone. We are almost neighbors. Check out the "Greenshed Party" thread.
The bistro set arrived and is put together. The 'rain chain' is hanging up. Today I'm going to put together the new compost bin. It is smaller than the old one and will fit somewhere, I hope. Pictures later today when it warms up a little. Beautiful morning.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Yes, Vicki. Try to come. It would be great to meet you.

I must be very tired today...
When I saw the thread title this morning (on the sly at work), thought "OMG! Willow's getting a second GS built!" LOL, sometimes I find aging so very amusing.

Did your rainchain fit, or did it have to be tweaked, Willow? Bistro set - now all you need is someone to serve you!

And the new smaller composter. Have to move some plants before I can set it in place. A butterfly bush and some columbine for swapping.

willow

love the bistro set, how cute and your composter looks like a worm farm house....LOL

Janet

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Yes, I use red worms and mostly kitchen scraps and light yard waste.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Ooooh .... maybe I could cadge a handful of worms off you since I left mine in Illinois? I've been building a homemade, migratable "factory" here out of those square plastic trays that nurseries use to hold 4" pots.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I just got done setting the new composter up. I had about three gallons of kitchen waste saved up. I lined the bottom with layers of newspaper, then dumped in the garbage. Then I went over to where I dumped out the dirt from the old composter and lo and behold there were a good number of red worms still in there. So yes you may have what you can find.
I potted up nine Japanese anemonias, four native columbine, a dwarf buddleia, and put SK's allium in a pot. I finished moving stuff into the shed. Good day today.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Oh, and I'll bet the new wood in the greenshed smells just fantastic as the weather heats up!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Sorry I didn't answer your question Katye, yes the rainchain fit perfectly. But the rainbarrel was to big for the spot I had in mind. So I put it on the other side of the house for now. I'll pick all your brains when you are here and see if we can come up with something brilliant.

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

I love all of the new plantings you did.... too bad on the rain barrel....

so where are your pics..... you know I live for pics....LOL

Janet

we are getting rain and temps are back in the 30's today.... but at least it isn't snow... which is what they first said we were going to get.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Meadpwyck, There are not many changes now so I thought I would wait for the party so they all might have something new to see. There will be lots of pictures from the party. My daughter is going to come and be offical photo-taker for me. It is Apr 10th so it's not to long to wait.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

I heard on the news last night that our snow pack is 1/2 what it should be, so that rain barrel should come in handy next year Willow.
