I have a bonus crop of peas, chard, collards, mustard greens and bok choi. We are eating tons of goodies every day. This year for the first time I have had to hold my tomatos, squash and peppers under the lights for an extra three weeks. Very strange weather.
North Florida COLD spring garden
This is probably one of the prettiest sights I ever see in my garden. These are my sugar snaps. I will be eating them by this weekend. We've planted out green and wax beans too but they haven't come up yet. We call it a recession garden. How are the rest of you doing? I hardly ever see cool weather crops on this forum.
Hi, Annie! Your plants look beautiful. My winter sugar snap peas are ending, and I just started new seeds.
I recently had the opportunity to try and develop pea recipes and I have been enjoying them raw and cooked from shoots and tendrils, to pods and shelled.
My fall/winter crop was destroyed by squirrels except for the peas and herbs. I didn't have much to share.
I didnt realize sugar snaps would take the freeze like we had.
I love them, but have only planted in the spring.....until this year. Im certainly going to try some winter ones.
Wow, very nice looking plants! Peas and chard look amazing!!
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts and peas all did really well for me through the winter. I have harvested all and now moving on to spring/summer plants. So far 24 tomato plants(more to come) and 12 peppers(more to come) have been planted for a few weeks now. Will be planting beans, cukes and zukes soon as well.
Annie: Oh, you do have some beautiful greens, I'm envious of you girl, greens, peas, beans, beets, never do well for me at all.
joy
