These are my remaining 6 Silkies. Any guesses on roos or girls? I think this one (in front with black) is a girl, but it's only my nonscientific 2 beer guess. Aren't her furry legs cute?
Silkie sex, want to guess?
Awwww they are sooo cute! Unfortunately, it's gonna be several months till you know what gender they are.. Sorry!
Catsy is good at Silkie guessing.. but not me..
I love the lil faces.. that speckled one has almost blue eyes.. toooo darling! I love Silkies!
It is almost impossible when they are so young. But if I were going to try, I would look for a roo to be the one that walks up to you with its head up. Silkie pullets are such demure little things.
Oh boy, oh boy - gender guessing! ------- I haven't a clue, but they sure are cute.
Ack, please don't use the word "boy" I want them all to be girls LOL. What would the odds of that be??
Oh no... don't get your hopes up too much Annie.. I hate to always be the bearer of bad news.. The odds of all girls is very slim..
I don't know how to do the calculations for all 6, but in theory the chances for each chick is 50:50. But we all know that just ain't so, unless the incubation was absolutely perfect. Artificial incubation enriches for roos since the pullets are more sensitive to temp fluctuations.
Big Bummer.
Yeah.. cause like it will either be a boy or a girl.. One or the other. LOL
I'm sorry.. I had to
Now, now, ZZ...Did you forget the "Half-Cocked" Post?
I'll just shut my eyes and grab a couple of them and hope for the best. We aren't allowed to have roos here. Bummer because I have fond childhood memories of being chased and attacked by Foootball, our roo. Either he never learned or we never learned, because he was evil until the day he died... which is another story, mama sows are pretty quick on their feet.
