dog breed recommendations

We are thinking of getting a couple dogs. But we are avid gardeners and worry about garden damage.
But on the plus side, I would love the dogs chasing deer from the yard, as deer damage is increasingly exasperating.
Any suggestions on breeds which aren't diggers and would help keep deer away?
