Does anyone know of a website that has good info about chicken colors and patterning? I've read all kinds of descriptions, but I'd really like better pictures. I have some that seem to follow certain things I've heard, but the pictures I find are different, even of the same color/breed. I realize mine are not "good" examples, but would like to at least have a clue...
Thanks!
Chicken colors/patterns?
The Feather Site has pretty good pictures of most breeds.
You really need this book...everyone does! But here is an excerpt that just happens to have descriptions AND pictures of most colours and patterns:

Yes, a great reference, however when my Ameraucaunas were chicks it was most unhelpful for predicting their adult feathering. I was disappointed.
Ameraucanas are infamous for their occult and deceptive infant feathering....I don't think they receive their final orders until well into the fourth month....
Thanks porkpal, I know Feathersite well, but what I'm looking for is patterns and colors independant of breed :). Some seem to be a bit different from breed to breed. For example, a Partridge Cochin doesn't seem to look much like a Partridge Silkie. I'd also like to see comparisons of splash, paint, mottled etc. And to know why some "laced" have one color on the edge, and some another....
Yes, I need help...*G*
*G*. Yup. I have two of the "mystery" EE's. I know they'll change, but I'd like to know what my adults are called...
Catscan!! That's it!!....off to track down a copy.
THANK YOU!!
Okay, found and ordered :):)

I also have the Standard of Perfection.. it was very expensive, but I LOVE it!
I have Catsy's copy of Storey's guide too. So you'd think I'd be better informed than I am.. but NOOO I read the whole thing and end up so confused I barely know what a chicken is!
*G* just kidding...
