Did Miss Mouth finally get over her broodiness?

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

Or is she still determined to hatch the fake eggs?

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

i stole the fake eggs. She likes to sit on the eggs tho if i don't collect them several times a day. we have an all out war when i first open the coop in the morning.. she refuses to get off the eggs & i refuse to leave without them.

I'd loose that battle.. LOL

I also have a Buff Orpington that is broody most of the time. She will sit on an empty nest. Fortunately her resistance to being removed is all bluff and noise.

Lots of noise. Yesterday when I put them all in for the night, all the chickens are making soft getting-ready-for-bed sounds - except her. I could still hear her squawking when I went back up to the house.

yes! hence the name Miss Mouth! she squawks half the night. Unfortunately she will beat the crud out of who ever tries to get to the "eggs". I do not think she would make a good mom tho. She left her baby to hatch in 20 degree weather alone. seriously thinking about getting rid of her if I could find someone to take her. She was a strong layer.. but now idk if she is or not. I need to start counting how many buff eggs i get a day vs how many hens there are. If they aren't laying by April... they are going to find new homes a long with a couple roos.

I had a broody buff... she sounds like yours porkpal... and I finally figured out to grab her head first. Disarmed her.
