I came home Friday on lunch break to pick up the mail only to find a surprise on my front porch. Can you guess what it was?
Please DO NOT XRay!
There was this box on the porch claiming to contain EGGS!
Could the Egg Fairy really have left me eggs? We gently start to tear into the box. First pulling out one neatly wrapped duo of eggs... a nice bluish green egg.

Maybe it was the Easter Bunny? Right time of year.
well... the 4 yo says that the Easter Bunny left them for the Eggbator. :) he argued with me that I did not know what it was called bc it was an Eggbator NOT an incubator. I was very wrong on this.
I think he is correct. "Eggbator" makes much more sense.
"Incubator" sounds like a cross between a Transformer and a Night Demon.
Agreed..
HEAR YE HEAR YE:
From this moment on out let "IT" be known as an EGGBATOR!!
What a wonderful Surprise! The Egg Fairy must love you and see you as very deserving of such a bounty. :)
We can fill our Eggbators with fluffy butt seeds and watch them bloom. LOL
Congrats! I hope they all hatch!
Billy calls his egg elevator, so Never argue with a 4 year old...
o my yes... Micah (4yo) came to inspect the eggs today... AND i had to leave all eggs in the nest so that he could collect them bc his weekend job now is to collect eggs for Grandma for 1 penny each. He was very adamant last night that I would do as he asked & allow him to come over. He's excited bc he will be here next weekend when the first batch starts to hopefully hatch.
We love the Egg Fairy!!! She & her fellow fairies are so very sweet, wonderful & giving. Micah wants to hug the Egg Fairy one day but I told him she's very good.. we may not ever see her leave eggs. Kinda like the Tooth Fairy..
Even if none of these eggs hatch, this is such a wonderful learning experience for all the kids I babysit. 4 yrs to 15 yrs. They've all learned way more about the biology of chickens than they ever thought they would. I've taught about all I can & they want more! Going to have to buy a book of some time to teach them more about chickens, chicks & eggs.
