anyone growing micro greens under lights? I'm trying this for the first time this winter. I planted my first tray on Feb 1, They say to cut them as soon as the first true leaves emerge. I was just about at that point around the first of March when I forgot to water them 2 days in a row and I lost about half of them. I still haven't cut the rest, because they are so small. The micro greens I've bought at my local farm stand have bigger leaves. Do you think I should fertilize? I didn't think you'd want to fertilize such small, tender plants. Also, I only want to use something organic, and fish emulsion wouldn't taste very good. Any ideas? I've started a second tray about 10 days ago that has germinated.
growing micro greens
I grew leaf lettuce under lights one winter. I used liquid kelp in the water (same thing I always use). It was an experiment. Worked okay, but I probably spent more on the electricity for the lights than the greens were worth. Have you considered sprouting instead? You don't need lights for them.
I've tried that, too, with little success. I think my mistake was buying a mixed package of seeds to sprout. They sprouted at different times and I never had a large enough clump to eat.
