I heard what sounded similar to a goose, looked up and saw this bird. It made only that one sound, again and again and it flew off right after I got this shot. I'm hoping someone here will be able to recognize it -- or at least give me some suggestions. I'd really love to know what it is.
I live in an urban area (if that helps) and I don't recall hearing this bird before.
Thank you!
CLOSED: What do you think this one is?????
Looks like a Blue Jay to me.
Agree, Blue Jay.
Okay, thanks. I never heard one make that sound before, though. I guess the light was on this one in such a way that I didn't recognize it. Appreciate it!
Wow -- what a crafty critter!
They have a wide variety of vocal's. I had one here that would make a sound like a Red-tailed Hawk before he would land on the feeder. He had me looking every where for the hawk until I finally figured it out. lol
Same here. One of mine even made a sound close to a child crying; really freaked me out. :-)
We had one that used the hawk cry to scare off the other birds and have the feeder to its self....One smart bird!
I think they all know that trick.
