Went out today..and of course I have No Will Power and ended coming home witha few noids..Hope you guys like..
This one I already had at home..but I couldn't resist how varigated this AV is ..
No Will Power
We don't have noids like that around here.Gorgeous!! Are they standards or semis?
Lynn
Where the heck do you get these noids?!!!! I've never seen such gorgeous noids outside of a private collection. I'd be going there every day! LOL!
Me too!! ^_^
Sonia, those are just 2 cute!
I'm with you Lynn, there are NEVER any NOIDS around here even worth buying. Most of the time they are practically giving them away because they are so ugly and they are of course overwatered like everything else in the stores here!
SO pretty Sonia! You are VERY fortunate to have a nice place to purchase plants locally.
Kim
Thanks everyone for your kind comments..
I guess I may be lucky..Alot of my Noids are from a local places that know me I ask them and they order them for me..sad..the owner will call me in the morning..sometimes I also come across them at the local HD an Lowes..
Speaking to the person in charge of ordering the plants at any garden center also helps..I think it gives them an idea of what customers are looking for..I always tell them to order them with varigated leaves ..sometimes it works ..although I have a few with dark leaves and purple flowers that I love..the only down fall is none have names..and these guys are super hard to id..almost not worth trieng..
The 1st is a Standard and 2nd and 3rd are minis..
Sonia
Sonia, very nice finds. You have the best luck with finding NOIDs locally. My fav. is photo #1 and I do love the twisty leaves on the third one.
The first one looks to be an Optimara variety or close to few of their varieties. The names are:
Modesty - http://www.optimara.com/optimarafieldguide/varietiesm-z/modesty.html
Compassion - http://www.optimara.com/optimarafieldguide/varietiesa-l/compassion.html
Devotion - http://www.optimara.com/optimarafieldguide/varietiesa-l/devotion.html
The second one looks like another Optimara Variety named Affection from their Victorian Charm Collection - http://www.selectivegardener.com/African-Violets/Optimara-Series/Victorian-Charm-Series/Affection-LEAF-SET-p286.html
The third one is a mystery to me but all of them are gorgeous.
I'm just re-starting my Violet collection and hope to regain all the varieties I lost and add more as I go :)

Sonia,
The foliage looks nearly the same, but the blooms don't. Maybe as they get larger you will be able to tell for sure.
You're welcome and sorry I wasn't able to be of more help. I have 3 that I'm suppose to be able to go up on Optimara's website and be able to identify and that's just laughable, but figure it's at least worth a try to find a similar or almost identical looking bloom if/where possible.
btw, the violet listed in your last post looks like either
"Purple Lace" - http://www.reedsgreenhouse.com/purple-lace.jpg
Or
"Pretty Miss Kelly" - http://www.robsviolet.com/pretty_miss_kelly.htm

Thanks Silver Tigris..the last one that I posted is a standard..and the leaves are not varigated..I wish it was the one you posted, it's a beauty..
Thanks Irabec..they ares till blooming different ..the botha a semi bloom..but one seems to have pink in it..and the other is a yellowish green bloom and slightly smaller..so we'll see..thanks
Sonia
It could still be her but more of an atypical specimen, but as has been said there are a TON of different AVs out there and the 2 I mentioned are the 2 that looked most similar to your girl there in the few minutes of searching.
SilverTigris,
You are so right!! The are nearly impossible to identify, because so many look so much alike.
As for the varigation your girl in the picture you provide as quite a bit of variegation (white in the leaves). However, as we've already discussed it just plain doesn't mean that your girl is "Pretty Miss Kelly" or "Purple Lace" (which I found there are 2 different styles of "Purple Lace". It's definitely enough to make your eyes cross for sure..lol
Silvertigris..I hear you about crossing your eyes..some varieties are so identical that you really can't tell..I've been collecting noids for a while now and I have to confess they are some of the best bloomer and there foliage is lovely..thanks again for taking time to look stuff up..greatly appreciated..
Sonia
not a problem, I would hope someone would try to do the same for me if they had the time :)
I have some optimara NOIDs.. One is a dark blue/purple and of course I think everyone knows that Optimara has several dark vibrant blue/purple violets. I believe mine is Margit but it could be Wyoming or one of the others..lol
The other is a "Rita" look-a-like. She looks exactly like their "Rita" except she's a semi-double double bloom instead of a single bloom
then my other one I have to wait for it to bloom before I try to ID it, but it too is suppose to be an optimara..lol
