help planting dahlia tubers

I'm in zone 7. I planted dahlia tubers outside in a raised bed. They were bulbs I had bought last year late on sale at Walmart. They were sprouting in the bags. I've been reading that its too early but didn't realize until it was already done. I'm going to put some straw over the top of them. Does anyone think they will make it?

I have read that you can cover them really well and they have a good chance of making. Since it is already done you might as well give it the good old college try. If I can help I will be happy to. Good luck.
