I want to grow some Trombocino Squash this year. I know I've seen some DGer's on here have grown it. I keep seeing instructions to grow it on a trellis. Would it grow on a pole just as well? I know my pole beans curl around the pole and some climbing plants propel themselves up a trellis rather than twist around. Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on these squash. I'd like to grow them vertically rather than let them sprawl on the ground due to space constraints.
Also, I've seen it described as having an artichoke-like taste. Any truth that that? If it tasted like artichokes, I'd eat it everyday!

Trombocino Squash
Trellis is good idea, but you are looking at quite a bit of weight.
Use #4 rebar minimun, #6 would be better.
Plants are very agressive, lots of growth.
Look up my blog & note cucumber panels.
One plant will cover 8' x 42" side.
