I went to cut my taters tonight and I had both the red and the purples on the same egg crate. Yep! You guessed it! I didn't label them (because I just *knew* I'd remember which one was which!) and now I don't know which is the red and which is the purple!! LOL LOL LOL I was hoping I might be able to tell them apart when I cut them, but nooooooooooooo!
Sheesh!!
Oh No!!
I've done something like that so many times. I finally learned one concrete truth.....can't depend on my memory for anything.
Oops! :)
That's better then writing it down and not being able to read your own handwriting!
Been there, done that. loI
I buy the little 4" plastic markers by the handful.
Everyone thinks garden ID, but are great for green house phase.
Lay them in flats or stuff in pots.
Make sure they are sterile!!
I use plastic forks and spoons! LOL I had them on plates labeled, but then I got the brilliant idea to put them on cardboard egg cartons. Yeah, not such a good idea now! LOL
Dontcha just hate when that happens?
I code the sides of the seedling cups with a grease pencil, but I have two I can't decipher and three with nothing. Ah, well.
Sometimes I just write on a piece of paper in pencil. It doesn't fade or run.
I planted cabbage, kohlrabi and brussels sprouts last fall. They looked so much alike for a LONG time... and I had really forgotten which was which... and the labels are washed off during the winter. Now that it's warming up, I've gotten a lovely surprise. "Oh! I planted brussels sprouts! How clever of me!"
So, just plant 'em and be surprised later...
I think we've all done that at one time or another. Sure get a surprise when they mature but they still taste great. My little grandson used to collect the markers and play with them and move them around copying me so I wised up and because I used EBs I mark the covers with indelible ink pen. LOL
