I wonder whether it would have more or different offerings than Backyard Poultry, which isn't as slick as Hobby Farms publications but has a lot of good information.
I got the copy of Urban Life From Grey and there are some postcards for other publications but not for one of them... HUMMMM
I'll ask here. The guy i know at BAM in the magazine section said they had another trial magazine coming out soon from hobby farms.. they don't put out little cards on them till they see if they are worth doing subscriptions on. IF its new.. you probably can't get a subscription yet.
I have one Urban Farms mag left if anyone wants it let me know.
I just heard back form this magazine and they will have a June copy
my tractor supply had a bunch of them a week ago.
I so LOVE my magazine.... Thanks Grey!!!!!!
I have been a subscriber to Backyard Poultry for five years now and I like it, but I am always looking for other good magazines also. I will check it out Green, and thank you so much for the heads up. Hay.
OH MY I have baby seramas hatching right now...Yippie!!!!!!!!
Oh how cool Haystack.. Pictures Please..
I want to get a subscription to this new magazine..
ur very welcome MissJestr....
My tractor supply didnt have them, and i contacted the company, and they said at this time there are no subscriptions..but i sent for the copy from them..its a great magazine..lots of goodies in there..
Oh that is so not fair, I dont have a TS or anything that carries cool magazines...
My Tractor supply (owner, store manager, whatever) told me to tell anyone who wanted it that they needed to tell their tractor supply to call other stores & get a copy mailed to Tractor supply for them each month of that magazine. They do it all the time here & he said that where ever his brother lives they would mail magazines from there to here for customers bc they couldn't' get them here straight from the magazine company.
The closest store it looks like is in California, bummer I thought they might have one in Vegas
Don't worry MissJestr.. I'll keep mailing you one.
SWEET!! and so you know my pain Loreen when they chatter about TS... oh the shame of living in Arizona
MissJestr I knew your pain, our tsc opened up three weeks ago, they started building last fall and just opened.
see.. i don't understand.. ours isn't that great. Only reason I've been going there is for feed bc they are open till 9pm & I can pick it up after work. But then i have like 6 or 7 feed stores/supply stores within 30 mins of me too. :) and i fully intend on finding one of them that sells the feed i use hopefully at a cheaper price.
The TS here is the only game in town. There's a guy in the opposite direction who sold feed, but then his store folded and he started offering it out of his barn. Last time we were there it looked pretty bare, though, so I'm wondering if he's decided there are better ways to make money. He's a farrier, too.
We do have Coastal Farm & Ranch here, as well as local feed mills. I have an organic garden & feed store close to us that I will use.
Omigosh, Loreen, lucky you! If I wanted organic I'd either have to raise it myself or have it shipped in.
Here there is
Wild Oats, where I have been going for years until the owner sold it, and they raised the prices way high and I go back sometimes if I cant find it at Cerbat... they have pretty cowgirl Doo Dads
Stockton Hill Hay and Feed, dont like the people that work there now, did go there for a long time, but they got rid of my favorite manager. Only go in case of dire straits... Oh and when they got chicks, cause they had leghorns this year...
Fanchers, been there once or twice, got some buggy hay one time, just have not gone back.. But they have Pink Leg warmers...
Cerbat Hay and Feed, owned by GOOD People, got my buff's, black A and Wren the polish.. Then she gave me Cerbat, who is the sister to my 5 week olds, but the size of my three week olds.. They dont have much in the way of doo dads, but they got the feed I need and I love Dennis and Beverly..
Then there is Grass and Grub, its a gas station that sells hay.
Oh and walmart who has the cheapest chicken feed around... Go Figure.
The new chicken magazine is out from hobby farms the summer editon. If you have it check out page 4,I am now published!!! LOL The one that says Article Ideas is mine.I got mine at walmart.I was going to order it on line from hobby farms but it cost 6.95 for postage and I think the magazine was only 4.99. Great magazine full of good info.I did ask if you could have a subsciption just for this magazine and they said no,they would only have four issues a year but you can order online.
