CLOSED: CLOSED: Another pretty little one needing ID

(Zone 1)

Recognize this little one? Could it be a female Yellow-throated Warbler? Pelletory ID'd a male for me yesterday. Or, possibly the Common Yellowthroat? Although, I think the Common Yellowthroat has a dark mask?

That's a Yellow-rumped Warbler (Science name is "Butter Butt)..OK, not really.
It would be unusual to look up into a tree to see a Common Yellowthroat-they are almost always near the ground and near water and Yellow-throated Warblers always have a black and white face
and a Bright Yellow throat and chest..

Thanks so much OldNed! I see the Yellow-rumped Warbler in my Fla bird book but it just didn't look like the photo shown!

Thanks again, I will mark this closed.

They're quite variable, with first-winter females (like this one) much drabber than adult males.

Thanks Resin. I thought it might be a female but wasn't sure. I had never seen this bird in my area, although my bird book says it's the most abundant wintering Warbler in Florida. It sure is a little beauty.

Another new one identified for me a few days ago is the Yellow-throated Warbler and I saw another one of them today. It's so much fun seeing different birds at the feeders or in the trees.
