Yay, something up closer to my neck of the woods. I'll mark my calendar and see what I can plunder from the yard (or woods).

always a great place to find happy procurers of new plants

Rachel had happily dug up an old Lavatera that she didn't want anymore and was posing with it. It had been out of the ground for awhile and didn't seem to care - it was budding out anyway. And not long after this photo was taken, she found someone who took it home as a treasure!

Hey! I think she got that from me! LOL! Now we're playing 'pass the lavatera'?
March 6? No way! That's way too early for me. I'll have to see.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Okay. That's funny. I think there were two pieces and as I remember I think she said that it took awhile to dig it out. But that's all I remember. The gal who took it was very excited to have it.

This year is going to be one of those crazy years where we take on more because we can garden so early and then we end up getting behind because we kept telling ourselves that it was earlier in the year than we thought it was . . . I can see it coming.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

no sh**. It already started.
I feel behind when I view the prettiful flowers of the various weeds that are humming right along, hoping i wouldn't notice them. Good grief - this year will require vigilance with the weeds. 2 Dandi's almost ready to set seed - snip, snip - problem solved. Wait, there's more........................

I keep thinking that there aren't as many ranunculus and then I remember that it's only February . . .

Indeed! I feel very 'behind', and especially because I was so sick for almost 2 months! Yikes! I didn't even CARE about the garden! That is very scary, let me tell you. But actually, when I think on it, I'm not behind at all. March is always a little early for me for the green elephant. I remember saying the same thing the last two years. But I'm sure I can scrounge something up. I'm just not sure I can come anyway. Andrew's play opens on March 12, so that first weekend in March is the last weekend we'll have to do costumes. I will be at the theater a lot that week.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Yeah, you do have a lot going on. But it would be good to see you.

I don't think any of us is behind. It's only the third week of February and we've all been out in the yard several times!!

I just think that will make us take on more and we may get overwhelmed.

Melissa, are you starting to feel better yet?

I am! Thank you for asking, Kathy. It's been a long haul, but I am almost back to my regular self. I'm still being careful with the breathing, as I did have a bad infection in the bronchi.

I will play March 6 by ear. I would like to visit my mom, who lives close to the church. It's going to depend on the costume stuff.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Gosh, yeah, Melissa - and one doesn't ever want to develop a chronic problem, especially in wet mildewy WA. Let's be nice to our bronchii!!

Cedarhome, WA(Zone 8b)

Drat. I won't be able to make the Green Elephant. We will be in Wenatchee that weekend. But, all is not lost, it's another jolly occasion, family birthday BBQ celebration.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Too bad. Maybe the next one. It's a quick swap and pretty friendly and informal. It seems like there are a lot of people there who hang out on Gardenweb and then people who are brand new to gardening that are just happy to get anything!

Those are the ones I like: the ones who are new to gardening and are just happy to get anything LOL! I always have plenty of plants for those people!

Yes, being nice to the bronchii is very important! I like my bronchii. I want to keep them happy.

IF I have time & the weather is dry this week, i will be bringing Strawberry starts.

^_^ Hmmmm... crocosmia, lady's mantle.... yes, I could come up with lots of stuff for "new" gardeners!

There is no way I will be able to make it as I already have obligated too many weekends in the next couple of months, but hope you all have a great time!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Maybe in the fall!
