Banana Bran with Dates Muffins

Any one have a way to spruce up "JIFFY" Bran with dates muffin mix? The recipe for bread, included drained crushed pineapple. Any one tried this or have their own concoction? I was thinking to do the same amount but with banana in honor of Banana Bread Day : )
