I have never grown any Hibs so this may be a "dumb" question. I need to know if there are any hardy hibs that are orange or partly orange. My sister has a new house with a blank slate for the yard (4 acres). She loves brightly colored flower particularly orange. I have ordered her a lot of lilies from a co-op. I would love for her to have a beautiful landscape but she needs low maintenence plants. She is not a gardener as of yet but she love to "look at all the pretty flowers". I'm just trying to help her out. Any advice any of y'all have would be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think to get orange you need to go with the tropicals. There are some hardies that come in red--is that close enough? If you scroll through here you'll see some of the red ones: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=hibiscus&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=moscheutos&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
Thanks ecrane3. Do you think the tropical ones would make it here? I'm in 7b-8a. If not red may just have to work :)
The tropicals are really zone 9--if you were in 8b and had a sheltered area then they could probably make it through some winters, but in 7b/8a they'd really need to come in for the winter.
What about Tropicana Cannas. The very large leaves are multi colored yellow and green and the blooms are a magnificent orange. They are very easy to grow and spread like rabbits. I have many that I could send you for postage.
