We hatched out four new silkie seramas, two modern bantams, and one EE, plus two cuckoo marans. With 13 more still in bator that should hatch tomorrow, also a look at my new homemade candler. Hay
New Hatch
another pic
Oh dear! It looks like Haystack is overtaking me again in hatching adorable chicks....
The candler now looks like the Ascension of Humpty Dumpty.
I mean, of course in an astronomical, not theological, sense. Although there is a little Matthias Grunewald about it.

Humpty-Dumpty. Aarrrggghhhhhh.
It's late...everything will seem better in the morning:0)
Just too cute Haystack. Such tiny babies.
Bumbling Boo Boo Babiez.. I love it!!!!!!
I love the image Catscan! - No more crystal cube - boohoo.
Billy says"Mr Hay I love those guys" and that is a direct quote...
If you keep any, surely one should be named Billy.
Funny you should say that, PorkPal. Cause I have a beautiful black and copper serama Rooster, I named him BILLY BOY. He is beautiful and he will be pappa to some of my next batch of serama chicks that will go into the incubator on the 24th of this month. I will take his pic and post it, and then have it printed out and send it to billy. I can't remember if I told Miss J or not but I remember I was going to earlier like about a month ago on facebook. About the only thing I can remember anymore is usually Catscan making fun of my candler...LOL. Hay
But Hay, I just compared your candler to a work by one of the great artists of the 14th century.
It is the Isenheim Altarpiece of candlers....
OH ZZ's I love that picture, who shot it. Look just like two of my guy's you sent me. He is beautiful.
Tomorrow I will post pic's of my black/copper rooster (Serama)
He is such a little MAN just like Billy, thus the name Billy Boy!!!
Today a gentleman (New Customer) came to look at my Seramas, It was so much fun to watch him. First he saw Booker, he was awed by his beauty, Then I showed him Dot, again just watching him was fun, he was thrilled. Then I asked him if he wanted to see Billy Boy? He just smiled and said of course. When he saw Billy Boy he just started giggling like a little kid, Then he said how much? I just smiled and said for who. Any of the Roo's, any of them, again I just smiled and shook my head and muttered "Not for sale" He smiled and said I gotta get outta here your killing me. He throughly enjoyed seeing all of them and as he left said I'll be back for my pick of the next hatch. He left a generous deposit but the smile on his face was priceless. Bill Boy is a class C but really stunning to look at. Hay.
I love hearing that Hay! I can just see Dot sitting on the fence giving him an occasional eye while watching his turf. OR letting out a (what he thinks is a huge crow) never for one second abandoning his post. LOL Dot has this way of looking at you when you are talking.. but only for a second. LOL He is such a perfect bird..
You must be having fun showing them off.. I just love it!! You gotta set up a hidden camera.. LOL The smug look on your face would be worth a million!!!
That made me laugh, (smug look) cause it's so true. I must admit, I tell every one the truth about the crazy lady that gave me these beauties. I take not credit, but I do keep the smug look...LOL...LOL. Sorry I can't stop laughing, ZZ's you know me so well. Howie
Hay, if you get that candler to work with BCM eggs, let me know!
I will Mel, It works just fine with the dark cuckoo marans, but as of yet I have had so success in penetrating the dark shell of the black/coppers. I have even used the two hundred watt bulb. It wants to set the candler on fire but won't light up the egg. Something is really wrong with this picture...LOL. Hay.
You have to relax your eyes Hay. Don't try so hard to see and you will see veins. Not on the blackish eggs, but on some pretty dark ones you will.
What sweet little babies. Do you have updated pics? Very neat hands free candler too. I'll have to show that to DH.
OH ZZ's I now have seven modern gamehens from the original batch of eight that you sent me. One hen lays about five eggs every week. They were about nine months old before I got the first egg though...LOL. Pic up dates tonight.
My apology for the lousy pic's, just no talent there at all...Hay
I don't care how bad the pics are.. they are priceless to me! I got a tear when I saw Dot.. I love that lil guy so much. He looks great.. so does Booker! Booker finally got sickle feathers and looks like a Roo.. Fantastic Haystack.. they are thriving. Warms my heart.. Thank you!
edited to add..
