Happy Valentine's Day..........My BEST Day EVER!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Where do I start? OMG what a WONDERFUL day!
Yesterday we rented a rug doctor and hubby and I steam cleaned all the rugs. They came out SO awesome! Jess will notice a difference with her breathing soon I hope.
I should hear from the doctor's tomorrow........they are going to remove her tonsils.
Anyway, today I said to hubby "think of all the money we'll be saving without the cat litter, food etc."
Then I said.........do you think I can order some plants to get my collection going again? I really miss many of the plants I used to have.
Hubby said........order all the ones you want............OMG! I surfed and surfed and surfed. The list went on and on and on.......scribbled some things out......added this, removed that......found this, found that. It was just terrific!

Then we had to bring Josh to work so we stopped by Marden's........remember Marden's Lynn?......*lol*.
I found these AWESOME cherub candle (going to use them as plant) holders that you screw into the wall and can put a plant on $1.99 each. Bought 4 of them. Hubby is going to put them up on the spaces between the windows on both bay windows. I also found 4 candlestick holders that I'm going to use for plant pedestals $.49 each! Then I found this AWESOME glass cloche to use as a terrarium for $7.99. It was the only one in the store and I was SO excited! I KNEW this was going to be the best day ever!!!

Okay, so I KNOW I said I was going to start out slow and my intentions were good but when I started looking I kept saying "oh yeah, I miss that plant too" *lol*

OOOOOH I have to say, this is SO much better than Christmas and I can't tell you how excited I am! I just had to share with you all. I can't wait until I have pictures to share too!
These wont' be mailed until mid April but it sure does give me something to really look forward to!
I bought 2 bags of some awesome soil this past weekend. I plan to purchase some pots either tomorrow or Tuesday so that I have everything I need when my new babies arrive :)

And the day just kept getting better and better........

I told hubby that with all the new plants coming that I needed to make some of my beaded plant hangers (yes, I even got rid of those) again and he said "get youself some beads". I went EVERYWHERE yesterday looking for beads and just couldn't find any in the price range I wanted to spend. Came home and surfed E-Bay for hours and still wasn't happy with the selection. Then I went online and found a great bead site that sold the exact beads that I wanted for $1.50 per 480 beads! WOOT! Happy Camper. I will be beading away soon and my new babies will have hangers waiting for them when they arrive.

Yesterday my daughter and I went to 2 different salvation Army stores and for $100.00 we bought:

Jess:

4 pairs of jeans
1 shirt
1 pair of bearclaw boots (brand new.....$4.99!)

Mom:

5 pairs of shoes (brand new)
3 pairs of pants
3 shirts
2 nightgowns
1 dress
1 bathing suit cover top for this summer

I have just been on cloud nine and unable to sleep from all the excitement! I dream about my list of plants every night since *lol*

I am so anxious to have SOMETHING to take pictures of and share with you all. I miss doing that!

Today I'm going to Wal-Mart to get some pots and some fishing line (for beaded plant hangers).......then it will be time to just sit back and wait until mid April *lol*

Kim,
Down the road if you want strep leaves let me know....When Jan comes here we are going to be seperateing my streps.... So leaves should be around..LOL You and Gail still in touch ?
Hugs,
Susan
Who loves your dish rags.... LOL

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Susan did you change your username? I don't remember it being TurtleChi.
No, Gail and I aren't in touch as much :( When I stopped growing plants we kind of lost touch.
I ordered a couple of streps to start out with but I'm really going to take my time acquiring plants as I don't want nearly as many as I used to have but I greatly appreciate the offer more than you know.
There may be a couple down the road that I will take you up on the offer for but for now I'm going to start out with whole plants and propagate those.
I'm really looking forward to my chirita, nematanthus and others as I seemed to do better with those.
You still using your dishrags?
Jan, I used to have the directions on how to make beaded plant hangers but I forget where I posted that it was so long ago. I didn't save the thread.
I purchased my beads from a site called Consumer Crafts.
I plan to make a few extra hangers to use for trading until I can get enough plants to start offering in trades ;)
I did find (way in the back corner under my table) 2 hangers I made a long time ago and put the 2 hoyas I have in them. I can't wait until my beads get here and I can start making them again.
I will post pictures soon :)

Kim
