Type of hummingbird please

Newburgh, IN(Zone 6a)

My daughter sent this picture to me. She lives in Los Angeles, CA and this was in a bush near her door. Can you tell me what kind this is?

Female & immature hummers are difficult to ID.
My best guess is "Anna's", but I'm in Colorado not California.

Wouldn't begin to know, however here is more info on the Anna hummer pollengarden mentioned.

It is a terrific photo - you can certainly see the bird clearly enough for an ID. I'm surprised nobody has confirmed or denied my ID yet. I am going to try and create a link from the Bird-watching forum.

Hi guys, It's already been identified in the Bird Identification forum.

My daughter's neighbor has a better camera, look at these shots, fantastic. Wow.

The neighbor's photos are very professional looking, but your daughter's are still pretty good. And baby birds - especially hummingbirds - in February is amazing! Meanwhile, in Colorado, it is snowing ...

Los Angeles had a few cool days and the little birdies did not make it. Sad day, the baby died and the other egg did not hatch.

So sorry to hear that.

Sad, I imagine for self preservation the adult sought shelter or flew to a warmer area. Maybe they will return to the nest and start again.
