I'm just getting started. LOL
Wren: I checked out your list..
Impressive!!! I picked up about a dozen this past weekend. I picked ones you didn't have on your list. When these grow (I'm guessing summer) we can do a swap for ones we don't have. ;)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have to get out there and see what I still have, lost a few do to the heat last year, and the fact that I was not able to care for them. Getting the body back working so as soon as it warms up I will start to do a new inventory.

If I have any thing any wants then I will be willing to trade.

I want and love the King Midas. I have the Night Bloomer, and Campfire. and 2 other unknowns. I love epis. It's hard to pick just one. My night bloomer is 30 years old. It's looking rough. It was my great grandmother's plant. I've cut it down tremendously. I will put her in a clay pot. She doesn't like the pot she's in now. I will have to wait til Spring. I have 10inches of snow on the ground!!! I hope Spring hurries up!!! Julie

I've heard you all are getting our weather. We want to move to Naples. My hubby's family lives there and they are crying that it's cold. They should be in my shoes. It's worse here!!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I know but remember we are not use to cold. Usually it is only one day.

I like the smaller growing Epis.....can have more in the same space. LOL currently I'm on the trail of MorMor. The net pictures I've seen are GORGEOUS. But then they're all gorgeous. Headed to Florida next week and am hoping to be able to visit Bob Smoley's. Hmmmm Maybe if I tell my DH they sell motorcycle parts. Hehehehe

LOL!!!!!

Remember that you want your plants to have good, mature growth for trading. New plants will take several years to get to the point where you can harvest some leaves for trade. Young leaves are much, much more likely to rot rather than root. bob

That is true about the epis being mature. I have a Campfire epi that my dirn cat keeps knocking around. Gonna have to find a better place for it!!! I love the Clown epi too!!!

Houston, PA(Zone 6a)

Hi all
I just started collecting Epis this year. I like all the chioses of flowers you can get.:)) I have just bought quite a few from Don's Epiphyllum World on E-Bay. The first 3 types I got from him were great.I say this because I am new at this plant and the cuttings did look real good.Wating on 6 more types frome him (21 cuts). As you can see I am hooked and I like it.

I have been a friend of Don's (of Don's Epiphyllum World) for almost 20 years, and I can tell you that not only does he know his Epis, he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. He's very honest, and has a lot of character and integrity. I don't know one single person who has a bad thing to say about Don, and we have many friends in common in the C&S world in this part of the country.

Fort Wayne, IN

I've recieved some epi seeds with a plant that I had bought recently and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to start them, and any other advice, this is my first year growing them and I am so excited to watch them grow. Thank You for any help..
I also like the "clown" I've also gotten "going bananas", "Grace Ann", Aztec Temple, Moon glow, Desert Haze, Falling In Love, Madras Ribbon, Bumpkin, and a few more I can't remember the names.

The seeds are easy to grow. Just put them on the top of your moist seed starting soil, keep damp.
They are very, very slow growers. It will take at least 7 years to reach blooming size.

Thank You Sandy. I put some on top of soil and put a clear plastic cup with an hole in the top so it would act like a greenhouse and I have them under an artificial light. It would be really neet if they grew. I'll keep you posted on how they do. Thanks for the help. I've been learning quite alot about epis from all of you, it has been very helpful.
