Wilmington Garden Show
OHHHH hate I missed it. I haven't been in years.
They also have a fabalous quilt show in Wilmington every 2 years or so.
How you are all fine and warmer than I am as the office heat is still broke.

I went both days and had a great time, as usual. Considering 4" of snow fell overnight on Saturday, there were a decent number of people there. Sunday was packed, helping makeup for Saturday.
Bought lettuce, spinach, 'Rocket' Arugula, root growth enhancer (for my poor suffering orchids) and...another orchid. sigh.....
I SWORE I wasn't going to by any more orchids until the ones I already have are in good shape. I was strong for several months until the second day of the show...
On the first day, I brought one of my very sad Oncidiums with me to get advice from the learned folks with the Cape Fear Orchid Society. They helped me a lot; told me what to do with the orchid and suggested I get some root enhancer (which I did). I went back the next day to thank them and they had their orchids on sale.... There went my self-control! Left with a Galeopetalum Giant 'Rhein 'Harelikin'. This exact cultivar isn't here on DG, but there are some similar, one being: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/169594/

That's gorgeous. You will have to post yours in PlantFiles now.
Tell us about the root enhancer??????
I know. The bloom just has to OPEN!! Waiting...waiting....
The root enhancer is K-L-N, by Dyna-Gro. (http://www.dyna-gro.com/kln.htm)
The orchid folks recommended it to use on my orchids that I had improperly watered and the roots systems has suffered as a result. It can be used on any plants where root growth is important - new planting, seedlings, etc.
We'll see!

Barb,
My wife and I went on Sunday... we talked with the Orchid folks for a while but managed to get away without buying a new one for my wife. It really was packed, we had a heck of a time moving our daughter's stroller through there.

It was packed on Sunday, wasn't it. I was glad to see that though, considering the slim crowd on Sunday. You many remember me - I had the small dog named Sugah.
Barb
Thanks for the Dyna Gro info Barb; I am going to look for that.
Found the K-L-N at my fav hydroponics and organics store; will be trying it in the morning on some sadly neglected orchids.
Good luck!
