SNOW in North Texas!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Woke to a heavy dusting of snow this morning! Supposed to be more coming our way. Wish I could stay inside all day, but I must try to make it to work. Maybe we'll close at noon! (I can hope anyway!)

Stay safe, dry, and warm everyone!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Drive carefully Stephanie, it can get quite crazy out there.
We have about 1 inch here, luckily I don't have to go anywhere, but i will be bored sitting inside, Oh Well!!

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

It is just starting here and some is sticking to the leaves on to of the soil. It is 37F at the Gilmer airport 12 MI away. I am helping Maggi today and running top Bob Well nursery to pick up an Apple tree. I have grew Golden Delicious when I was in Fort Worth and they did real well there. I am thinking about a Fuji. It also looks like a good day to get my ears lowered.

Everyone be careful out there.

What happen to Global Warming?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't know, Lisa, but I'm ready for it to come back! It's been snowing off and on all morning, more on than off. We'll be heading home early today, but we've got a lot accomplished at work today. We even had some customers. I really wanted to ask them why they're out in this slop, but kept my mouth shut!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't know, but I will be hibernating the rest of the week into the weekend. DH just heard 6-8" snowing on through the night.
Careful driving everyone. We got out to p/u a prescription earlier and DH slipped and fell, ok, but scared him.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Shelia, I bet it scared you too.
Stephanie-I probably would Have asked but I understand why you didn't. Its called Hoof in Mouth disease in humans.
We only have rain but dang it is cold and my body needs sun. PLEASE be careful you guys, feel free to post pictures. At least snow is pretty, rain and mud get old really fast, even though I realize we need the rain.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We have a thread on some snow pics here too.

I am sure we will have loads of pics before this is over. It is coming down like crazy now, great big flakes.

yes, I think it is the most snow I have ever seen here.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

It is pretty. Thanks for the link.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

It is still coming down. This is definitely the most snow I have ever seen here. And this is the only winter that I remember with three significant snow events... will it ever end?!?

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

This is the longest that I have had my heater running since I moved to TX. It has been on for the last month at least. It has snowed here twice this season. It just doesn't seem possible that the temps will be warm enough and stable to plant my spring/summer garden in a few weeks. We might get light snow tonight.
I haven't even got my cole crops in, maybe this weekend.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Here's my granddog, Shelby, fetching a snowball in SE Pennsylvania in over 2 feet of snow and more falling. Glad I'm not there!

DFW officially recorded 11.2" of snow. It sure is pretty outside, but I would rather not have to get out in this mess!

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

This area received 7 inches of snow officially.
I am hearing tree limbs cracking like gunshots so the power will be out before long.
Right now... still snowing and oh, so pretty!
Off to work here too. Go careful...

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Going out to measure this morning and take pictures, but I think it as at least 10 " and looks georgeous.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

This was my street at 8:00 this morning. It was passable (thank goodness it didn't get as cold here as they expected overnight) but since it took me 4 tries to get my car up the driveway through the slush and into the garage last night, I decided to stay home today.

All the side streets like yours will be even worst after an overnight freeze. I sure wouldn't leave a vehicle on the street. Glad you stayed home today.
Josephine has no electricity today or didn't earlier this morning. I haven't seen her posting as yet. Their neighbor's tree fell across their driveway and a flower bed so they may be dealing with that too.
We got out and shoveled a path to the shop where the cat stays, other than that staying in also.

We ended up with more than forecast.
Stretch says "woo hoo!!!"
