What is the shining red bloom among the ROS?

Navarre, FL(Zone 8b)

You are going to have an amazing driveway when these all get taller!! What a great idea. I would love to do something similiar to you. My driveway is sort of horsheshoe shaped. I will send you a SASE if you still have seeds to share.
Do you water these or do they survive on mother nature?

LOL it's a marker flag LOL
It's to mark new plantings
I started out with 15 ft between plants
and filled in over time with new ones

I also have a bed of perennial hibiscus. I have 150 + Mama plants for this year to do crosses
Hibiscus moscheutos and many other species + cvs
I have been crossing these for about 5 yrs now.
LOL I have a good 5,000 seedlings overwintering now in several beds from last years settings
most are under 4 in. so with this very cold winter It will be spring before I know the real #s that I will have to
set out!

For the past 3 summers it's been very dry. So I have many water houses hooked together all the way from my mother in laws house to the very end of the driveway LOL water pressure isn't all that good at the end LOL
It takes over an hr. to water one way and then the same back... I don't water the oldest ones most of the time, just the new plantings. With 22 acres to plant I am having a blast.

Her house it the smallest one and closest to the drive way. She is 87 so when we moved she had to come and wanted to. She is my buddy.

That is beautiful!!! Can't wait to see pix you will have this year. Only have 3 & they are all doubles & I never have seed but may have some rooted cuttings next spring. I trimmed mine in the fall & stuck the cuttings in pots & if they make it I will let you know. Have a white, a mauve & a pale pink. Been trimming mine hoping to have standards instead of bushes. Thanks for sharing your pix with us.

Hugs,
Judy

Hi Larry, lovely driveway, I can't wait to see also what it will look like this year!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Hope you had heat in your GH when the temp dropped so low. How are your plants doing? This winter is one for the record books. Yesterday was short sleeves & flip flops & they are calling for snow tonight. Can't wait for spring. I'm soooooo ready!! Stay warm.

Hi Larry - nothing to trade, just a quick hello and to say how wonderful to see one of my favorite names from years ago. :)

Orangeburg, SC

Daturapod, I'm a newbie here. I have seen the single while and lavender rose of sharon plants and didn't know that there are so many more. I do have a double and I and the bees enjoy it very much. Although they are not a pretty as tropical hibiscus, they do well here in my zone 8 yard. If you still have some seeds available for sase, I'd like to try some.

Navarre, FL(Zone 8b)

Larry,

The seeds came in yesterday. I got them planted immediately, then came in and got you a couple more stamps sent off. I noticed the PO had sent it back for more postage. There is enough seeds for me to have a real nice row of bushes!! WooHoo!!

Thanks,
Pam
