WOW, it is so NICE to be back! I have missed you all immensely!
I have SO much to tell you all but I really wanted to just send out a HUGE HUG to all the familiar faces I see and to say Hello and Nice to meet you to some new friends!
WHERE do I begin?
I went from having 100's of plants and a light stand to having 4 cats, 0 plants within a month.
I even deleted all the beautiful pictures I had of all my plants :(
Now, because of Jessie's allergies I'm back to 0 cats and 0 plants *lol*
I really can't believe how much I missed growing plants and missed how much your friendships all meant to me!
I'm hoping to buy a couple of plants tonight so that I have SOMETHING green to take care of!
I can't wait to catch up with all of you!!!
OH how I have missed you all!!!!
Kim
Hello My Friends! And Hello New Friends To Be!
Kim! You're back? Really? Yeah!!!
Now, if we could get certain persons to come back too . . . we'd be a happy family again!!!
Hey,hey!! Welcome back Kim.We have missed you.I was just thinking about you last week when I saw one of your strep crosses getting it's first bud. It's so nice to see you back ^_^
Big hugs Jan
Kim that is such a sad thing but you have to take care of family first. But now I'm sure that many people here will happily send you things too so that soon you'll have as many plants as you want. We just need less snow and warmer temperatures.
you bet, just let us know what you need.so glad your back.
mrsbonnie
You are all the Bestest of the Bestest!
Jannich, are you kidding me.........the first flowers on one of my crosses? OMG
I can't wait to see pictures of the blooms!
I am really looking forward to catching up with you all!
There are a few plants that I really miss.
Luckily when I got rid of all my plants I gave one to Grandma and she said I can take cuttings of it this spring.
I found 2 hoyas tonight at Lowe's and also found a purple passion plant and rex begonia.
It's a start.
I'm now working full time in the accounting department for the water company and have a nice office space to beautify.
I have been crocheting some fun things to dress up my desk. I will share pictures once I take some.
If I haven't said it enough, it's SO nice to be back!
Kim
Welcome back Kim!! ^_^
Hi Kim!!!! It's been so long since I've talked with you. By the time I came back to DG last year, you were gone. Miss you!!!
Let me know if you want me to send you leaves/plants in the Spring. I have some streps and Avs that look promising;)
Hugs,
Shanika

Karen
Hello EVERYONE..............KAREN!!! *woot, woot* SO nice to be back.
I know I haven't posted much other than this one post but I have been trying to catch up on all the beautiful pictures etc.
I think I'm going to place my first order for plants today and the funny thing is, I'm re-ordering the SAME plants I had over a year ago *lol*.
I can't believe how much I have missed growing and I'm kicking myself in the pants for getting rid of everything but OCD coupled with depression will do that to you. You just wake up one morning and decide everything has to go because it had reached a point that it was too much.
Then, the four cats.......I couldn't have had plants.
Now that the cats are gone now I can but I'm going to try to be a little more under control and just get the plants that were my favorites.
WOW it is SO nice to see you all, I have thought about you all too!
Spring is right around the corner!
I'm going to have a few vegetables outside for the first time this year and am really looking forward to that.
I'm up to 4 plants right now and ALMOST bought a plant last night but I put it down and said "I really want to focus on getting my favorites back again first".
I'm SO happy to be back ladies and SO happy that many of you are still here.
Shanika, I had SUCH a hard time parting with my pink princess philodendron and miss it terribly. I'm SO sorry I had to part with everything but I had just reached a point where I couldn't take care of anything as it was overwhelming me. I don't want to reach that point this time but I sure do miss having my plants.
I should have some outside beautiful plants to share pictures of and that might interest people for trades :) I love trading and miss it.
You all are such a part of my family and I missed you terribly!
Kim
Kim I am so glad to see you back. I wish I had a AV to send you but haven't any myself at the moment.
:) :) :) Hugs
Kim,
I don't have much extra right now,due to my own catastrophie (sp),but by spring I should have.Let me know.
Lynn
Oh friends, I'm not really worried about having a collection overnight *lol* I really do want to try to start of slowly and I will be placing a couple of online orders so eventually it will grow, I'm not worried about that *lol*
It's funny though, there are those few plants that I miss the most and I will be ordering those today as our tax return came in and hubby said I can make a couple of orders *winks*.
I was always one to grow the "companion" plants anyways. I'm really looking forward to having some new babies to care for and share pictures of.
Most of all, I joined just to hang out with you all as I missed the friendships I made on here SO much.
XO
Kim
Welcome back! we missed you! You sound so much happier and more settled. I'm so glad for you. I am still a struggling beginner with Gessies but I am enjoying tending them this long winter. I was laid off Dec 1st and hope to be called back in March. Dave retired and spending all day home with him is not proving to be the easiest thing our marriage has gone through. I think my plants have saved at least part of my sanity.LOL
I have lots of things I can send starts from once our weather ever warms up. This global warming is getting me down. We are expecting another 5-7 inches of snow tonight. UGH!Let us know what you order . We'll probably all be green with envy.LOLO Lurker Lou
LOU!!! My DEAR.........OMG how NICE it is to see you.
Actually, I just posted my "new" list :)
I can't tell you how nice it is to see you here!
Don't you worry about me my friend, it sounds like you have your hands full with being home with hubby all winter *lol* I do believe that working helps keep the sanity even if it's only part time *lol*.
Truly, keeping plants is a VERY good thing. I realized just how much when I didn't have a single plant in the house for over a year. I missed them unbelievably!
I can't wait to get things rolling again but I'm going to try to only grow the "have to have's" (which seems to be growing the more I am back at Dave's *lol*)
I can't tell you how tickled I am to see you all still here and LOVE checking in to see if anyone has posted.
Seems like this forum has slowed down a bit but we can all change that can't we? *lol*
Missed you much!
((((( Hugs )))))
Kim
I have been ill since last spring. SOMEHOW my a.violets made it. Through my illness, moving, etc. Hubby took care of them most of the time. I need to repot when I can feel better.
Glad you are back. I didn't hear what happened with your cat. Hope all is ok.
We had 4 cats Sally (2 were persians and 1 was 1/2 persian) and this was the first winter with them all in the house.
My daughter was sick all winter long and the past 3 weeks have been the worse.
She is extremely allergic to them so we needed to part with them.
I found homes for the 2 persians and brought the other 2 to the shelter down the street.
They are really a great shelter though and I know the other 2 will find good homes.
Jess is going to have to have her tonsils out and we had to deep clean all the rugs.
What a weekend it has been!
Hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you too had a rough winter.
Kim
Oh, that is sad. I hope the kitties find wonderful homes. I know four would be hard for most people. I am allergic to kitties and had two until one passed away, he lived a long time. Then I had my calico girl for years. I took meds and shots. Then when Milicent passed away at an old age I didn't get another kitty. My little Shih Tzu misses having her kitty buddy. I wish I could let her have another, but I can't. Trudy can live without dogs, but loves cats. So cute.
When we moved to this new home, the lady had two cats. We took out all of the carpet and put in hardwood floors.$$$$ Bought huge area rugs. Also, we had a maid service wash the blinds on the windows. Dander from the saliva is the problem so you do have to get all traces off. I hope the shelter finds homes for the other two really fast.
