Spring Fever!

Atco, NJ

Hi Everyone!

I'm sitting here watching it snow once again, blizzard conditions expected into tomorrow. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got spring fever something fierce. I've gone through every av catalog I can find on-line. I think I've made a wish list for every av supplier out there. Before we all start spending our money for new varieties, how about if we get those Want/Have Lists updated. I see that a couple of us have done that. How about the rest of you? Spring trading season really is just around the corner. Let's help each other find some of those plants we just can't live without.

Have a great day!

Hey Pat!

Long time no see :) Good to hear from you. I agree with you. I myself have the "disease" pretty bad. I have been setting up trades with 2 members on here and that is helping A LITTLE. Notice I said "a little" ha!

GASP!!!! I have 3 sisters that are members on here and none of them have anything posted. I have already picked on Lynn about this little situation here. Shame on me for picking on her and not the others. Jan...Susan...Ya'll are in trouble!!!!! :) Sorry, Lynn :(

AVPat that is a great idea. I know it's probably hard for those of you who have a lot to list things and maybe you don't want to list them all. I added some more to what I have last week and will be able to update again in a couple of weeks. I do need to go through my list though and make sure it's up to date with the things I want the most.

i;m always up for a swap, hate this winter weather, can't wait for spring.i just don't know what i want, with the exception of some smithiantha's.

Gosh Bonnie you grow so many things I can see how it would be hard to come up with a wish list. And it doesn't seem fair to always be the person sending things does it even though I know you do it and are very generous but that's not the point. It's fun to get things too!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

My list is pretty much up to date. I too, am looking forward to spring. A good swap/rr would be nice, but it's too cold for one now . . . but maybe in a month or so we can discuss?

Atco, NJ

Sounds perfect to me!

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

oh of course it's a thrill to get something in the mail.i love it. i do grow lots of different things & mostly because of the groups i belong to, i have access to so many things.Very lucky that way, alot of people have no access to anything other than the internet groups.but i will come up with a list. lol

Spring fever just made me order some new trailers...lol

Sonia

Irving, TX

I am going to have a few Chirita leaves to trade if anyone is interested.

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Sonia, how exciting! I have some trailer leaves down now that I got in early December. Many of them have already started making babies, quite surprisingly. Most of them are semi-minis.

I ordered leaves from Violet Gallery several weeks ago and I know I won't receive them until late May early June. It will be the height of the growing season so it won't take long for roots/babies. I found 3 leaves on eBay last week that I had to have and did order. I might get those in a few weeks.

Anyway, all this to say I understand spring fever completely! LOL

Jan--you have snow?!!

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Spring is only 35 days away!!! But I'm sitting here in 3 more inches of snow with more coming in on Monday. I've said it before...For Pete's sake his is NC!! LOL!!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Hee-hee! I think we are having a vacation from snow this year--you guys down south got all our snow this year! Still believe in global warming?

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

yes I had snow yesterday WOOHOO!!!.What a beautiful sight for this x-northeast woman to wake up to! My area is southern Alabama got a total of 5-6 inches.Just about crippled this area. They called off schools, stores in the town 10 miles from me closed up and the town and county closed all roads, only emergency vechiles were allowed on the road. They called in the rural mail carriers and closed the post offices up about 10 am.Then there was the black ice last night. The town opened up the roads at 11 am this morning. As of right now 80 percent of the snow has melted..Rural living, gotta love it.LOL.Jan

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Jannich, you are just 2 funny!
LOVE that snowman!
Can't believe someone actually gets excited about snow *lol*
We haven't had much snow this year in Maine. A couple of storms but most of it is melted now.
I'm SO fine with that!
I keep going out to see if my daffodils are breaking out. Of course they're not but wishful thinking is OK right?
I can't wait until spring!

I would get excited about snow, if any were here . . .

Went to Boerne today, and bought a Orchard's Bubble Magnet for hubby (yeah, right!). He bought me a bag of dirt. Which, incidentally, is exactly what I wanted!

Atco, NJ

We have more snow this year than we know what to do with. It's piled up everywhere! There's still a couple of feet of it in the yard. It was very pretty at first, but I'm so over that now. I want my green grass back. As much as I want spring, we need a slow melting of snow or we'll have some serious flooding.

My bright spot this week was my husband bringing home 3 new plant lights for me. He's been watching me struggle to get everything under the lights. All the new babies are starting to spread out and I was running out of space under the lights. I guess moving a few trays upstairs near the windows caught his attention. Got to love that man! Instead of complaining he bought me lights.

Yes, he's a really good guy! He knows me well. We've been together for a very long time. Our 43rd anniversary is coming up in May.

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Congrats Pat, what a blessing!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

He sounds like a great guy!! I have one of those too.....it will be 39 for us this June.Aren't we lucky ? ^_^

Irving, TX

For another perspective my wife gave me a wonderful V-Day present. She helped me put together my new plant stand. It has four shelves and wheels to help me move it around. She is the best. This June will be 29 years. She is my best friend.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

You're a very lucky man!!

Atco, NJ

Isn't it wonderful to have such understanding partners in this crazy life we lead! By today's standards we are in the minority to be with our spouses for so many years. I think that says something good about all of us. We must have done something right. We are the lucky ones.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Amen!!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

WOW, all the lovebirds here and for SO many years too. That's SO special!
We will only be 19 years this year (feeling like a teenager *lol*) but have been best friends (were neighbors) since we were 12 years old *lol*
It is SO wonderful to have a spouse who "understands" the need to grow.......and grow..........and grow :)
