My son lives in Phoenix and for the past couple of years has been on his own personal mission to rescue and find homes for stray cats. Although he's adopted many of them himself (up to 6 now!) he's having a difficult time finding a home for Joey - isn't he beautiful? He's trying a new approach and has developed a website to find a home for Joey: http://adoptjoeythecat.com/. I'm trying to help him and am posting the site anywhere I can think of to reach as many people as possible. If you're interested or know anyone who might be, please contact him through the website. FYI, I think he made a mistake though, he probably meant to say that "vehicle travel is (NOT) out of the question"! I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to travel as long as the distance is reasonable :)
Adopt Joey The Cat
Good Luck, Joey is adorable!!!
I rescued a cat just like this in Savannah, GA. He was an alley cat and we named him Cous Cous. He jumped in my lap one day and dug his claws into my leg and started drooling and purring when i pet him. He wouldnt let me up for 30 minutes. We had him fixed and got him shots and brought him into the house finally. He lived under the clawfoot bathtub for the first month and then moved on top of the refridgerator for the next 3 months. He only snuck down in the middle of the night to use the litter box and then went back up. He loved to be pet and was very nice but just wouldnt come down.
One day, we had electicians come to the house and he ran out the back door and was gone for 3 hours. When I finally found him in the yard next door, he meowed louder and faster than any cat I have ever heard and ran 50 feet and jumped on to me and latched on tight like a baby. After that, he moved to the bed and lived there for a few more months. After a few years and a move back to Texas, he will go into most of the bedrooms of the house and loves all the other cats. I currently have 7 cats and all are rescue or strays.
Well, Joey looks so adorable, I passed on the web site to my friend in Phoenix.
My wife has a giant blog so I am forwarding it to her.
Your sons' site is nicely done and I can only hope he will find success with Joey. I feel his effort is admirable and I know you are proud of him for being sensitive to all Gods' creatures. Good luck Joey!
7 cats here and all discards that we adopted so we are sympathetic.
Thank you for looking, I really appreciate your help! I'll let you know when we find a home for Joey :)
I would take him in a heartbeat, but I'm at DH's cat limit. LOL Joey's quite the looker, though!
He's so cute. All my heartstrings have just been tugged, but I'm at Dh's cat limit too. If I had a bigger house, I'd be down in a minute.
