My girls always make me happy. They like to read catalogs with me. Especially ones with pictures of hens with eggs. They will just stare at them for the longest time. First they start pecking at the eggs, then their feet, then stare at their eyes. If I show them a mirror, they come running over, then look at the beautiful chickens for a little while, then walk behind the mirror in order to see the back side of the chicken, lol. If I showed a picture of a dog to my dog, or a picture of a cat to my cat, they would just look at me saying "huh"? But my chickens can translate a 2 dimensional picture, into something it represents. I'm amazed.

I've never read to my chickens - poor deprived little girls! I must try it. (I don't dare get one of the great bumper stickers. It might give someone ideas: "Outlaw chickens? Hmm...") Actually the outlaws already have most of the chickens in our nearby neighborhood, and they fight them. I have to drive through that neighborhood daily.
I can't display one, either....can't risk being observed.....dang those roosters....
But I could put one on my office door!
