I grow my own mints and herbs, altho I don't cook. But since growing my own herbs, I've decided I'd like to make some wonderful concoctions that utilize these plants. I'm hoping you guys can offer some simple and delicious recipes (fish, chicken, desserts, dips, sides). Come spring, I may have some of these mints and herbs to trade, so holler at me later if you're interested.
Some of the mints and herbs I grow are:
spearmint
ginger mint (love the smell)
spice mint
blackberry mint
lemon balm
perilla
basil
cinnamon basil
rosemary
bronze fennel
bee balm
Believe it or not, I grow these for the smell of the foliage and I don't know how to use them for cooking. I know I can use spearmint in my tea and will do that when I can find it again (currently under several inches of snow).
Any home remedies made using any of these herbs would be helpful too. I'd really like to make them functional members of my gardens instead of just ornamentals.
