This is Casper, my newest addition to the household. He is another Fitzroyi greater sulphur crested cockatoo.The last owner had him 6 months and wanted him gone.The owner before had him 3 yrs and wanted him gone...and the story goes on...People shouldn't get pets they know little about.The last owner said the bird screams (imagine that), and bites and they couldn't handle it.It stayed in the cage all day. Does this look like a bad biting bird???? So now he's a happier bird. 2 days here and already being petted..kissed, and readily handled.You just have to understand their side and habits. I almost wish breeders would quit selling large birds to just whoever comes along with the money.There is already too many cockatoos in rescue shelters that will never be adopted out.
Casper will do better now he has an owner (me) that understands his species.
