Do you think it might be better to cut off the bud and let the little plant put it's energy into growing? I have wondered about that on small plants.

That it would I just noticed it last night when I was watering thought it was cute though.

I've wondered the same thing, but other more experienced members have shown photos of their blooming cuttings. Kenboy uses that trait when choosing Brugs to grow in hanging baskets. I've had a few cuttings bloom without any apparent harm. I do fertilize them so maybe that makes a difference. Realistically, it does slow growth down as it would for any other plant. It's just that I don't think any Brug fanatic can make herself/himself cut a bloom off. :-)

Here's a photo of a Bernstein cutting with its first bloom.

And here is a little MEM.

I had a three MEM cuttings and two of them bloomed when they were just inches tall. I let the first one bloom to sort of verify the variety and then I cut the bloom off. Very hard to do that. MEM seems to be a willing bloomer. I can't wait for them this summer.

My MEM bloomed in the greenhouse. She had the longest blooms! Heavenly.
