Just a recommendation...
I have a library of gardening books and several strictly on Container Gardening. At this point, it takes quite a bit to get me excited about a new one, especially enough to recommend it.
"Container Gardening-250 design Ideas & Step by step Techniques" from the editors at Fine Gardening.
I talked myself out of it several times, due to the $19.95 cost (in AK). Lowe's does a % off all their books/magazines so in an "I deserve it" moment, I purchased it...My new favorite, full of ideas, hints you can actually use, great pics and easy reading.
Be sure to have a pad of the little 2" sticky notes handy if you decide to add this to your collection.
Great Container Gardening Book
Thanks Chocolatemoose (great screenname!)
I will check that one out for sure. I have 2002 booklet from Fine Gardening called Grdening in Containers, which may be similar to the one you mentioned. I usually buy the Container special print magazine from Fine Gardening and also Garden Gate each year. If you become an online member of Proven Winners (www.provenwinners.com) they will send a very nice brochure with great pictures and container recipes every spring - no cost.
A few of my favorite Container Books:
Contain Yourself by Kerstin P. Ouellet
Potted gardens by Stephanie Donaldson
Thank you for your recommendation, Chocolatemoose. I am new here, and this will be my first container gardening book. Wish me luck!
I'll echo the thanks, Chocolatemoose. I have a subscription to Fine Gardening and like what I see when they put containers together, so this will be a nice edition.
Do any of you find yourselves wandering around the nursery sometimes without a particular combination in mind, just to see what you can come up with? I've had some successes and many failures with this, but it's fun to see what you can do on your own.
Love your screenname.
