For the ladies

North Augusta, ON

Couple of questions ^_^

1) long hair or short?
2) do you dye your hair?

Since I know the men will peek here's one they can answer too:

3) do you like your bedroom to be bright, light, and airy, or dark and cozy?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I ws a natueral blonde. Now I ask my hairdresser for the Judy Dench cut.

North Augusta, ON

I've been trying out short hair for a year or so, I just can't find a cut that suits me. I thought I should cut it short since I always had my long hair in a pony tail anyways. My hair is so thin and fine that short hair makes me look bald :(

South Hamilton, MA

I too was blonde until it turned grey. Youngest DD started to turn grey when she was in her late 30s, so she dyes her hair. Don't blame her.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Short hair for me...mine too was long and always in a ponytail, super straight but not to thin. Natural light blond up until my late 30s when it started getting mousy brown. Now I do a heavy high light back to blond.

Our bedroom needs a remodel bad and will definitely be bright, light, and airy!

I remodeled my bedroom in 1964 ,the plan didnt include the man.

1. Shoulder length
2. Yes natural - brunette/ red highlights trying to keep it that way, maybe a little lighter
3. Cool and cozy

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Hair short and mostly grey now.
Light and airy but needs a do over.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I, too, used to be blond...

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Short for now, mousy brown, color it to cover the grey, do it myself with Natural Instincts

I like my bedroom dark

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Dark at night, bright in the day. ^_^

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

shoulder length, brown. If it gets much longer it goes up in a ponytail.
Don't color it and the grey is starting to show. My sis is 4 yrs. younger and has to color it as it's totaly grey now.

Bedroom dark at night.

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

I'm like jumper- if my hair gets past my shoulders it goes into a permanent pony tail. I've been keeping it just above my shoulders, which seems to look best on me. My hair is naturally very dark brown. I have some grays here and there but evidently not enough because I still get carded nearly every time I go to buy alcohol. I dread having to dye it because I hate hair maintenance.

I only spend time in my bedroom at night, so it must be dark.

South Hamilton, MA

hair short. Unfortuneately it is thin on top & getting thinner. Dark bedroom at night or napping, light the rest of the time.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Hair: long with bangs. My hair, like yours, is very thin. I just can't find a short harido that I like. I can't stand spending more than a minute on it a day, so it inevitably goes into a ponytail, which I am resigned to believe is just fine. It keeps hair out of my face which is especially annoying to me. If I want to look nice, I wear it down for the night, but bring a chopstick for putting up when it starts to bother me.

Color: Originally, I'm a blonde. It's getting very grey, especially at the temples. I use "Sun In" to bring out the highlights which I think is better than dyeing because you don't get that hard line when the roots begin to come in. The Sun In doesn't cover up the grey, though.

Even though I'm not a man, I'll answer the bedroom Q: Cozy is first priority. I don't like dark, though, so I painted my walls BRIGHT orange. (see photo) I'm finding that the skin in my eyelids is thinning and I can't sleep if there's a little bit of light, and I like to sleep until noon, so I've been using a shirt to cover my head. I think maybe it's time to hang the curtains. I'm just concerned the cats will climb them.

My wife just went very short. I like the way it turned out.

North Augusta, ON

I love that colour!! I have my living room painted , well, everyone calls it bright orange, but the paint can said "Tokyo Sun".
I also can't sleep if there's a sliver of light. Brown paint and black curtains.

I've been watching a program called "The Unsellables". It seems I'll never have a chance to ever sell this place, if I needed to, unless I move out and paint all them rooms light colours. They say people shopping for a home apparently can not use their imaginations :(

Victor, she has a beautifully shaped face. I've tried all sorts of short cuts...maybe we're our own worst critic but I fear mine's going to go back to longish and in a pony tail.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's why I cut mine because I kept putting it up in a ponytail. I wondered to myself why have long hair if no one ever sees it.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

It's true. People can't use their imaginations. At least, maybe a white canvas would help them. Each room in my house is a different color and the more rooms I paint, the deeper the color gets. Guess I'll be painting all white before I sell...

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Long hair, not dyed. I like how it feels around my neck and shoulders, soft and warm, like a security blanket.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I had hair down to my butt as a child so now it is short, never used a permant dye. Have only used the ones that wash out in 12 washings or something like that. Never wanted to have roots showing different colors so I stuck to chicken dyes. lol
Have had a few highlights but even those won't cover all the grays now!!

Room is a mixture of light and dark...Dark green curtians and blinds, light wallpapaer, marroon and dark green bedspread w/maroon accent pillows. Very dark at night with the blind & curtains closed but nice and light enough during the day with them open.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Funny, when we first moved here, we did the entire house in neutral. As time went on, I really wanted more color and did most of the upstairs rooms in deeper colors.

Letting mine grow long, doesn't make it any thicker on top. Needs to be cut right now. Have to grab my cutter, known of the threads here as DH.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

beautiful agedgardener!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I haven't had a hair cut in maybe 12 years or so.. I can say I keep it long.. LOL... don't dye it .. I am not worried about greys yet.. although I have some.. I figured once I start there is no going back.. and that's more hair maintenance I don't want to deal with

I prefer dark & cozy... but I will say ours is a bit electric .. Randy got to pick the color for the bedroom.. since I picked the other rooms in the house (kitchen not included)... he wanted this color... but I ran with the design

I like that color, though that design would freak me out. Looks too much like an ekg and I'd be afraid I would wake up to a flat line!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

LOL, Victor.

Is the line just same color - high gloss? I like the effect.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I like it too!

North Augusta, ON

very nice!!
cozy yet modern!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very cool. Do you have a lot of silver and grey accents in there?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Are you referring to Allison's hair or the room?? ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

rotfl hahahahahaha

The room.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

like my wifes hair med/long shoulders or just above - blonde

room dark at night - and for her dark day and night - i catch hell if i leave the bathroom door open in the morning and let the sun in.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Funny....I hate that too!!! The dopes that lived here before us installed the wrong blinds on the bathroom window and there is a slit of light that bugs the mess out of me so the bathroom door needs to be shut....too funny.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

no shades in ours - we back up to woods and that is where the sun comes up - very bright

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:::grumble::: Victor!!

it's semi gloss on top of flat... Randy did the taping off... I did the painting... and to remind us to keep the heart pumping in the bedroom!!!

black, white, grey, and a lighter purple (took me forever to tie the sheers the same)
