Every summer I usually plant a half-whiskey barrel with water plants and this year I'd like to add a solar pump for a little fountain to provide a little sound of water. This will be on my deck in full sun. What size of pump do I need and does anyone have any suggestions regarding where to purchase it? I'm in NW Connecticut.

Harbor Freight has small, inexpensive ($20) solar pumps. I bought one for my as yet uninstalled 35 gallon tub garden. If you don't have a store near you, you can order from their web site - harborfreight.com. Just do a search on solar pumps. They currently have two on the web site - I got the fully submersible, but like I said - I haven't installed it yet so I can't tell you how well it works. Good luck on your project.
I get mine off ebay...you usually can compare prices there too. Watch the shipping price, some places make a 2nd profit off of their shipping!
